2021/2022
Taylor County was hit with two tornadoes within a month’s time in Dec. ’21/Jan. ’22. The outpouring of love and care from within the community and outside the community has been overwhelming. We are pleased to have the opportunity to connect with Amazon’s Seattle’s Disaster Relief office as well as Zappo’s Las Vegas offices as they sought to give back to our community.
Through Amazon’s generosity, we were able to purchase some bigger ticket items for tornado victims families for Christmas and have connected with local relief efforts to be able to assist families as the they rebuild.
Zappo’s also generously offered a financial investment along with a gracious offer to purchase shoes for every family impacted by the tornadoes.
2019/2020
The pandemic threw us a curveball, as it did with the rest of the world, but our work didn’t stop. Again, through our partnership with our local Amazon distribution center, we were able to distribute over 30 pallets worth of clothing, baby formula, food, cleaning supplies, paper products, pet care products, and hundreds of gallons of hand sanitizer! We were so pleased to be able to distribute these items to our local school resource offices, animal shelters, school custodial staffs, homeless shelter, rehabilitation facilities, and so many more agencies doing a great work in the community!
2018
Through our partnership with our local Amazon.com Distribution center (SDF1), we’ve been able to distribute complete Thanksgiving meals to over 50 local families in need each year for the last three years! Recently, through generous contributions from Amazon.com (SDF1) we’ve been able to provide clothing, personal products, new socks and underwear, housewares, and much more to other organizations in our community and state by partnering with The Healing Place Campbellsville, the Hope Center of Campbellsville, the Green River Ministries Homeless Shelter, and many others. We have, through Amazon.com’s generosity, been able to offer food for local drug and alcohol recovery meetings. We are so grateful for the impact Amazon.com has made on our community.
We’ve also been able to distribute pallets of fresh produce to the people of Campbellsville/Taylor County through a partnership with Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland. We have been able to assist the Campbellsville Christian Church with their program, serving meals to over 350 individuals hot meals and non-perishable food boxes each month.
In 2019 and beyond, we are committed to connecting local helping organizations to resources that can help them accomplish their goal to meet the needs of those in greatest need of assistance. We have some new projects in the works, so stay tuned.
